I joined D6: Culture in Transit for the Designs on Heritage residency series with the National Trust in 2023 -2024. I spent my time reflecting upon the multiple and often fractured, unfinished histories that institutional monuments attest to but don’t necessarily reveal. I used Souter Lighthouse in South Tyneside as a site for a series of conversations she had with other queer and adoptive mothers and parents to talk about how we hold and hand over the idea of heritage within our families.
